This guy didn't do anything yet he wants to charge $100.00 for showing up at your door. If you don't want to get taken, I wouldn't call this service at all!
We had AC trouble for a couple of days. The house was just getting hotter and hotter. I knew we needed to get help from somewhere. I found this place online and it seemed okay. We called the number. This guy said he charges $40.00 for a service run. He came at 7:05pm and did a quick check of the system. I had a drain pipe that wasn't draining and the coils were frozen when he arrived so he blew air in the pipe to unclog, maybe 5 mins work. He went outside and cut the pipe off that was coming from under the house (after asking me to remove the leaves that covered the pipe which has worked fine for the last ten years). 1 min work while waiting for the coils to thaw. After it thawed he checked the temp in the vents with a noncontact thermometer. After maybe 5mins of checking he said it was fine and the problem must have been the doors being off the furnace unit. He said he might add a little freon just in case and literally added maybe an ounce(valve open for 3 secs) 1 min work. He was at my house for less than 25 mins. I asked what i owed him and...what a surprise! He said $100.00 dollars. My jaw about hit the floor. I asked what exactly the other 60 bucks were for and he said "freon" I asked how much "freon" cost and he said "it expensive" I just stared at him in disbelief so the guy says 75 buck and we'll call it even. I reluctantly gave him 75 and sent him on his way. Needless to say we won't be calling this service again.
